THURSDAY'S EAU CLAIRE GAME
simple as $5 Little Ceaser pizza for 23 girls and Gatorade or water.
The girls will take the bus over to the high school to
change and then wait in the gym hallway. They will eat food and get on the bus
when it arrives.
Make sure the girls pack a snack for the ride home. They are
usually hungry after the game and we have a long wait until we ride home if
they take the bus. Sometimes there are snack bars at the games, so they could
also bring money with them. There are girls that do Psych-Ups and these are
fine too (They can ask last years’ players about these).
Ask them to pack layers (warm up pants, sweatshirts), they
will get cold after sweating during the game and then sitting through another
game.
I am excited for our first Varsity game!
Go REBELS!!!

Congratulations to all of you. I have decided to keep all 22 of you on the Girls Varsity Team this year. There will be players who will not be game players, but we are still excited to have you remain on as practice players and teammates for the 2012 Varsity Team. I have already spoken with these players in private.
Thank you all for working so hard and being so positive. We are going to be doing a lot of learning this year and I know you are all prepared to work hard.
Our next practice is on Tuesday, February 21st and our first game will be on Thursday, February 23rd at Eau Claire. SCHEDULE CHANGE: The varsity girls WILL practice on Wednesday with the JV Girls from 3:30pm to 5:00pm.

This Week's Schedule 1/30
Try-outs will be held on Monday, Jan 30th, Tuesday, Jan 31st, and Thursday, February 2nd. Times will be 3:30pm to 5:30pm.
Monday: Girls will meet in front of the middle school and then go up to the track for the 1 mile run and then will proceed to the game field for sprints, other agility tests, and ball work
Tuesday: Girls will meet in front of the middle school on the practice field
Wednesday: Girls will meet in front of the middle school on the practice field.
Girls will need to wear layers as it could be warm or cold out. They will need running shoes, cleats and shinguards(if they have them). They DO NOT need to purchase cleats and shinguards for try-out week. If your daughter makes the team then she will be required to have shinguards with the NOCSAE label on them (DO NOT CUT THE TAG OFF), but this is only after she makes the team. She will also need 1 pair of all white game socks and 1 pair of all black game socks (these are about $5-10 each, if you have a hardship then we will work out arrangments).
Coaches will meet on Friday to choose the teams and each team will consist of 17 players unless there is an extenuating circumstance and then the team may allow for more players. The results will go out Friday night on the high school & middle school webpage, the mcgirlssoccer blog, and facebook soccer parent group.
We commend all girls who have showed up for pre-season and conditioning. They have all worked so hard and put in so much effort. We are looking forward to a wonderful season with such hard working and talented young ladies!

PRACTICE DATES & TIMES: Conditioning
Here is the January schedule for girls soccer:
Tuesday, Jan 3rd
Thurs, Jan 5th
Monday, Jan 9th (Coach Mann out)
Tues, Jan 10th
Tues, Jan 17th (Coach Stalker out)
Thurs, Jan 19th (Coach Mann out)
Mon, Jan 23rd
Tues, Jan 24th (Coach Mann out)
Thurs, Jan 26th
Mon, Jan 30th
Tues, Jan 31st
The girls will need to wear layers as it can be very cold outside, but hot in the weight room. We are not able to play with the soccer ball in January, so it will be all conditioning (running, sprinting, agility skills, and weight training.)
Week #1 in February is try-outs for all non Winter sport athletes. All Winter sports athletes will have the opportunity to try-out when their season has ended.
We are looking into new uniforms this year as well as warm-ups. We will need to fundraise for warm ups (These could be anywhere between $40 to $60, so fundraising is very important). We will be setting up bake sales and selling chocolates. Any other suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Once the teams have been chosen I would also like to get T-Shirts which would most likely be a cost to parents, but the price has not been set yet (probably range from $7 - $15).
